Etc. - Opening Day is Today

Today is opening day at Barnacle Billy's, Etc. It seems to have taken forever. And I am too old for things to take forever! Needless to say, I'm glad we made it to this point. I will be happy to welcome you all back to Etc. when we open at 11am today.

Much  has changed over the winter but not enough to change the look, the feel or the existing items on the menu.

Lounge featuring new renovations.

We reconditioned the lounge area. We replaced the old worn-out carpet with a new darker blue carpet. In the process, we also replaced, stained and varnished all the trim pieces. We had the walls all repainted. The bench seats were taken out in favor of more tables and chairs. The partition in front of the bar was removed giving you more access to the bar and our wonderful employees behind the bar.  A few new cabinets were added. We also added three more TVs. All in all, it looks much cleaner and easier to access. To me it looks more comfortable. I hope you feel the same.

Internally, we made some major changes. Most of these you will never notice except maybe in more efficient service. We also completely revamped the cleaning area in the kitchen. We made new structural changes below that specific area, added a new dishwashing machine and added a lot of stainless steel to improve the cleanliness around the whole area. This makes it much easier to quickly clean the dish room and to keep it clean.

The other day I attended an employee orientation meeting held by managers, Micah Tower and Sarah Cannon, that took place in the lounge at Etc. It was well done. I got to meet some of our new employees there and to shake hands and hug some of our old ones. It was so nice to see everyone. But it was even more enjoyable to see so many enthusiastic faces. Everyone seems excited to be starting the season.

The menu will be the same as last season. Sarah and Micah have been working on making it look better and to make it easier to access and find what you want.

And we have new business hours. Barnacle Billy's, Etc. will be opening daily at 11:00 AM until we close on November 2, 2025.  During the spring and the fall, we will be open until 8:00 PM. However, in July and August, we will be open until 9:00 PM. This is a major departure from the business hours of past years. We decided to make it less complicated and more efficient.

So welcome back to Barnacle Billy's, Etc., our opening day. I have so enjoyed working at Barnacle Billy's (Original) since April 4th. Now I can enjoy both restaurants being open with similar hours this time! And, of course, I am very much looking forward to seeing all of you.
